Gardaí launch investigation following discovery of woman’s body in Donegal

Her remains were found at a house in Donegal.

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in Donegal.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found at a house in Letterkenny.

The woman’s name and nationality have not been disclosed at this time.

The discovery was made shortly after 6 pm on Friday, October 21st.

Both Gardaí and emergency services were alerted about the death of a young woman.

Following the call, they both rushed to the house in Letterkenny and found the woman’s remains upon arrival.

An investigation has since been launched.

The young woman’s body has been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where a postmortem is due to take place.

The house has also been sealed off and an investigation is now underway.

The local community is said to be in shock following the harrowing discovery.

A Garda spokesperson told The Irish Mirror;

“The woman’s body was later removed to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place in due course.

“The outcome of which will determine the course of the investigation.”

Gardaí confirmed they are following all lines of inquiry at this time.

The investigation continues.
