Fundraiser launched for teenage boy who died at Burrow Beach

Bradley passed away on Monday, July 11th.

A fundraiser has been launched for Bradley Lulendo’s funeral.

The 14-year-old tragically died after he got into difficulty when swimming at Burrow Beach. The teenager and his friend were swimming on Monday, July 11th.

The alarm was raised shortly after 8.30 pm on Monday night.

Bradley’s brother launched a fundraiser to help raise funds for his funeral.

Before his death, Bradley was living in Drumcondra with his parents and two siblings.

He wrote on GoFundMe, “Bradley Lulendo, 14 years old, was swimming in the sea with a friend at Burrow Beach.”

“It is understood he got into difficulty at around 7.30pm and the alarm was raised. Bradley sadly passed away on the 11th July 2022.

“My name is Pasias Lulendo and I am Bradley’s big brother. I am raining funds for the funeral to help my family during this devastating time.”

He added, “We would appreciate any help we can get.”

Bradley’s funeral details have yet to be confirmed.

Tributes have been pouring in for the young boy since his untimely passing.

One mum wrote, “My own daughter and her friends were swimming there that day and there is a very strong current that not many people are aware of. Please take care swimming this summer.”

Bradley’s father also paid tribute to his dad. “I really loved him and I miss him so much,” he told Dublin Live.

The heartbroken father said that the water was too strong for his son and he was sadly carried away.
