Mother and baby found dead in Dublin 15 named locally

They were found on October 8th.

Gardaí have identified the mother and 7-month-old baby who were found dead in Dublin on October 8th.

They have been named locally as Kate Donohue and her baby boy Vincent.

Donohue was aged in her 40s. Baby Vincent was only 7 months old.

They were both discovered dead at a house in Dublin 15 on Saturday afternoon.

Gardaí are not looking for anyone else in relation to their deaths.

According to reports, their bodies may have been in the house for days.

Neighbours contacted Gardaí after growing concerned for Kate Donohue’s welfare.

According to The Independent, the mother’s body was found in a room upstairs.

A source told the publication, “This incident was not a spontaneous matter.”

Gardaí issued a statement following the discovery on Saturday.

They confirmed they arrived at the scene shortly after 3 pm on Saturday.

Emergency services also attended the scene in the Beechfield area of Dublin 15.

“A female adult (40s) and a baby boy were discovered inside the house deceased.

Gardaí confirmed Kate Donohue was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her baby boy was also pronounced dead a short time later.

“Their bodies remain at the scene which is preserved for forensic and technical examination.

A Garda Family Liaison Officer is supporting their loved ones during this tragic time.

The local Coroner and Office of the State Pathologist have also been notified.

Post-mortem examinations will also take place in due course.
