The assault took place on Friday.
A man has been charged in connection with an alleged acid attack that took place in Cork on Friday.
According to RTÉ, 34-year-old John Paul Carey from Knocknaheeny in Cork has been charged with assault under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
Francis Costelloe was left blind in one eye following the attack.
Two others were injured during the incident.
Mr Carey appeared before a sitting at the district court, where Judge John King granted him bail after his bond was set at €700.
He must now abide by a number of bail conditions, which include having no contact with any of the alleged victims, their family or witnesses, and he must stay away from the Ballyphehane and Togher areas of Cork.
He is also under a curfew between the hours of 9pm and 6am.
Additionally, he cannot leave his home without giving written notice to Gardaí 24 hours in advance, and he must sign on at a local Garda station three times a week.
At the special sitting, Sergeant Gearoid Davis objected to Mr Carey’s solicitor’s bail application. Mr Davis pointed to the seriousness of the alleged assault.
The case has been adjourned until 12 May.
