Heavy showers and thunderstorms forecast for this week
It's not here to stay.
After wind and rain warnings battered the country overnight and the weekend saw a wet one, the blustery conditions are finally set to ease but it won't stay that way for long.
While Monday is set to start off wet and windy, particularly in the west and north, they will gradually clear northeastwards in the morning and become drier with sunny intervals and some patchy clouds with temperatures of 12-15C.
Tonight is also set to be a lot drier than last night with possibilities of a few clouds which will increase as the morning comes and a chance of light rain, with temperatures of 2-6C.
Tuesday will see a dry and bright morning but cloud cover is set to increase and there is a chance for light rain as unstable weather approaches, and heavier rain could affect parts of Munster once the evening hits, with temperatures of 14-17C.
Wednesday will see a mostly wet and windy day with heavy showers and even thunderstorms, with temperatures of 13-17C.
Thursday will also see an unsettled day with rain and showers set to occur throughout the day, as some get heavier in the evening with possibilities of thunderstorms and brisk southeasterly winds at times. Temperatures are looking to be 14-17C.
Friday will then see a similar day as spells of rain and scattered showers will be felt throughout the day but sunshine could occasionally peek through the clouds, with temperatures of 14-16C.
