Safe recovery, Saoirse.

Cervical cancer activist Vicky Phelan has reached out to Saoirse Ruane’s mother after she came out of surgery earlier this week.

Nine days after undergoing surgery for her cancer, the Late Late Toy Show star’s mum said she is “back home where she belongs”.

Saoirse had major surgery to remove a tumour from her lung, and this is the second time she has had cancer.

Sharing the good news on Instagram for their followers, her mum Roseanna wrote: “9 days post-surgery and our girl is back home where she belongs. It’s very surreal to think she’s home and that she is making such a remarkable recovery.

“If I never knew the answer to the question “who is your hero?” I certainly know it now….Saoírse you really are a very SPECIAL girl and we are so glad you chose us to be your parents.”

Posting all of this with a video of Saoirse smiling and hugging her dad and little sister Farrah-Rose, Coming Home by Skylar Grey was playing in the background.

Followers immediately began sending well wishes to the youngster, including Vicky Phelan and the official Late Late Show account.

Both simply sent a string of heart emojis, they wished her the best in her recovery.
