Woman (60s) dies following devastating Dublin house fire

The house fire broke out in Clonskeagh, Dublin.

A woman has sadly passed away following a devastating house fire in Dublin.

The blaze broke out at a house in the south of Dublin in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Firefighters rushed to the scene in Clonskeagh, Dublin 14.

They managed to contain the blaze, but a woman was severely injured in the fire.

Emergency services also attended the scene. Paramedics rushed the woman to the hospital, but she later died at St Vincent’s Hospital.

The woman was in a critical condition when they arrived at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Despite doctor’s best efforts, she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Nobody else was injured in the fire, according to a Garda spokesperson.

A technical examination of the scene has taken place. The results will help uncover the cause of the fire.

A spokesperson told The Independent;

“A woman, aged in her 60s, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition,” they shared.

“She has since passed away,” a garda spokesperson said.

“No other injuries were reported. A technical examination of the scene has been conducted.”
