The most heartbreaking accident.

A 5-year-old boy has tragically died after he was left in a car in severe temperatures.

The boy, who is from Texas, was left in the car for several hours.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office explained that the boy’s mum left him in the car.

It is believed she was rushing to put together a birthday party for his 8-year-old sister.

When he was found, the boy was strapped in his car seat.

The mother believed the boy got out of the car with his sister, but he was still in the vehicle when they entered the house.

The Sheriff said, “With the busyness of the activities that they were preparing for, it took a while for them to notice that the child wasn’t in the house.”

The family’s car was parked in the cul-de-sac where they live.

The mother realised her son was still inside the car, but it was too late.

She rushed outside but her son had been in the hot car for hours.

She called emergency services, but they couldn’t save her son.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to ABC News, the family was using a rental car.

“We believe this is a rental vehicle, so perhaps the child wasn’t as familiar with it,” he said. “The door did not have any kind of child safety lock enacted or anything like that.”

Police in Texas are currently investigating the boy’s tragic death.

We’re keeping the boy’s family in our thoughts during this distressing time.
