The dad said he’s trying to be a better person.

Ashley Cain has called out trolls who slammed him for enjoying a night out. The dad lost his daughter Azaylia in April when she was only 8 months old. She had a rare form of cancer called acute myeloid leukemia.

The dad attended the Strictly Come Dancing live tour over the weekend. However, trolls targeted him after the outing and sent hateful messages.

Following the backlash, Ashley issued a statement.

In the heartbreaking statement, he explained how he has been suffering from suicidal thoughts.

He explained that he wanted to try to enjoy one evening and “replace the suicidal thoughts I have every day since my daughter passed away in my arms”.

“Unless you are me, you will never ever really know,” he said.

“But I feel that the stronger I am, the more people judge, the more people attack, and the more they try and bring me down,” he explained.

The TV star said the trolling, harassment, and bribery he faces every day is “horrendous”.

He admitted, “Sometimes I feel like the only way these people who don’t even know me will stop, is if I kill myself.”

Ashley said people do not understand the pain he is going through.

“I am however hurt that people want to go to all lengths of bitterness and hatred, speculation and variations of lies to discredit a person trying to smile.”

Ashley said he is trying to be better and is “trying to keep his daughter’s name alive”.

“Trying to make a difference for childhood cancer, mental health and the warriors who are fighting it.”

He concluded, “There’s one thing for certain… Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”
