“I just keep telling myself this isn’t real.”

The daughter of teacher Eva Mireles has paid tribute to her mother.

The beloved 4th-grade teacher was killed in the tragic Texas school shooting on Tuesday, May 24th.

Her daughter penned a harrowing post on Twitter following the untimely death of her mother.

Adalynn Ruiz said she is in disbelief over what has happened to her mother.

She described her mum as “the half that makes me whole”.

“Mom, I have no words to describe how I feel right now, tomorrow, and for the rest of my life. I never thought that I would be here writing this type of post for you.”

“I just keep telling myself this isn’t real.”

Adalynn said her mother is a hero.

“I just want to hear your voice. I want to hug you one last time and I want to feel the calluses on your hands because you were not only a teacher during the day but the most hardworking cross fitter in the afternoon.”

Adalynn revealed her mother always called her daughter when she finished work.

“I want everything back. I want you to come back to me mom,” she continued.

Adalynn said she misses her mum more than words can explain.

She added, “Thank you for the best times of my life. Thank you for being my best friend.

“Thank you for being the best mom anyone could ask for.”

She promised to take care of her father and their dogs.

“I will forever say your name so you are always remembered, Eva Mireles, a 4th-grade teacher at Robb Elementary who selflessly jumped in front of her students to save their lives.”
