Davy Fitzgerald and wife Sharon welcome their first child

Kat O'Connor

Davy Fitzgerald has become a dad for the second time.

GAA player Davy Fitzgerald and his wife have welcomed their first child together.

The 51-year-old and his wife Sharon welcomed a baby boy in May but kept the news a secret until now.

The Ireland’s Fittest Family coach opened up about the new addition to their family in an interview with The Sunday World.

He confirmed his son is called Dáithí Óg.

Davy is also a dad to 25-year-old son Colm from a previous relationship.

The dad said Dáithí Óg is “one of the best things that ever happened” to him.

He also said he is chuffed to be a dad again.

He told The Sunday World, “25 years on and he ends up with a brother. You know what, I don’t think that’s a bad thing either that there’s two of them together now.”

Davy said Sharon won’t let Dáithí Óg out of her sight.

“She won’t f**king let me do anything, so she won’t! She is very attached to him, but you know it’s been a good thing for us.”

He said they didn’t share their news until their family had settled into this new chapter.

Davy married Sharon in 2019 after 13 years together.
