“They left no stone unturned”

Dame Deborah James has praised her doctors for giving her more precious time with her family.

Earlier this month, the mum confirmed there was nothing more doctors could do to treat her cancer.

The mum is now receiving hospice care but has praised her doctors who did everything they could for her.

Speaking to The Sun, the mum said she’ll be forever grateful for that time.

“They gave me precious more time with my husband, my children, and my family, and for that, we will all be forever grateful.”

“I owe my five years to the team at The Royal Marsden who told me they would throw the kitchen sink at my cancer, and never gave up.”

“In my final days, I am so grateful to have the peace of knowing that we tried everything, they left no stone unturned.

Deborah previously shared that she decided to stop active care.

“I am now moved to hospice at-home care, with my incredible family all around me and the focus is on making sure I’m not in pain and spending time with them.”

“Nobody knows how long I’ve got left but I’m not able to walk, I’m sleeping most of the days.

“Most things I took for granted are pipe dreams.

Deborah was only 35 when she was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer.

She is a mum to two children- 12-year-old Eloise and 14-year-old Hugo.
