Dunnes Stores issues urgent recall amid severe nut allergy fears

Undeclared almond nuts were included in a popular pie.

Dunnes Stores has issued an urgent recall amid food allergy fears.

They have warned customers that their Luxury Apple Pie actually contains undeclared ingredients.

It is understood the product was accidentally mispacked with the Dunnes Stores Pear and Almond Pie.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland said the product contains almonds which may be unsafe for customers with allergies.

“The implicated batch of Dunnes Stores Luxury Apple Pie was mispacked with Dunnes Stores Pear and Almond Pie. The product contains almond nuts which are not mentioned on the label. This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almonds,” the FSAI stated.

The affected batch has a used by of date 4/10/2021.

Customers have been advised to practice extreme caution and throw out the pie, especially if there are people with allergies in their household.
