Teenage boy killed in horror car crash in Co. Kilkenny

The crash happened in south Kilkenny.

Gardaí in Kilkenny are investigating a single-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a teenager.

The 17-year-old boy was traveling in the car with two friends when it crashed.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two other men were taken to the hospital, but the severity of their injuries is not yet known.

The incident happened at Dowling at around 8 pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in south Kilkenny, but despite their best efforts, couldn’t save the 17-year-old.

The young man’s body has since been moved to University Hospital Waterford.

A post-mortem will take place in due course.

The scene is currently closed and a forensic examination is due to take place in the morning.

Anyone with information about the accident has been asked to come forward.

Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking with road users who may have video or dashcam footage.

The footage should be made available to Gardaí as soon as possible.
