The mum welcomed a baby boy before her tragic passing.

Tributes have been paid to mum Laura Liston, who died giving birth at home in Limerick.

The mum sadly passed away during a home delivery in early June.

Her family has paid tribute to the beloved mum. She was laid to rest on June 9th, but tributes have been pouring in since news of her death became public.

Laura Liston is survived by her husband Fergal Mannion and their baby Shay.

Her parents, sisters, and extended family remembered her as a kind and “gentle soul”.

The mum’s loved ones have penned moving tributes since her tragic death.

“Laura was a truly beautiful person. Take solace in the positive, long-lasting impact she has had on so many,” one wrote.

Another shared, “She was a brilliant colleague, full of empathy for those she worked with and very supportive of others.”

Another said the mum was “beautiful inside and out”.

“Laura was such a lovely person and it was an honour to work with such a kind-hearted lady, we will miss you dearly Laura.” another added.

Home birth services were momentarily paused across the Mid-West region.

An investigation into Laura’s heartbreaking death is now underway.

External experts have ruled her death as a tragedy.

A spokesperson for the UL Hospital Group said this week:

“We can confirm that we have temporarily suspended the homebirth service in the Mid-West following a recent maternal death.

“The staff of UL Hospitals Group and of the homebirth service would like to extend profound sympathies to the family involved on their devastating loss.”
