Three children rescued from fire at derelict pub in Manchester

The fire broke out in Manchester on Tuesday evening.

Three children have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out in Manchester.

According to reports, the blaze broke out at an old pub.

Emergency services responded to a fire on London Road in Hazel Grove on Tuesday, July 26th.

Firefighters rescued the three children from the scene of the fire shortly after 8.30 pm.

The huge blaze broke out at the former The Woodman pub. The fire started on the first floor of the building.

Police and paramedics also attended the fire on Tuesday evening.

Five fire engines also tackled the blaze.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service issued a statement via the Manchester Evening News.

Crews from Offerton, Whitehill, Marple, Cheadle, as well as Stockport, attended the scene.

Additional crew from Cheshire also tackled the blaze on Tuesday evening.

“Firefighters, as well as colleagues from North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police, remain on the scene.”

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but an investigation will take place.

The scene of the fire on Hazel Road has now been cordoned off.
