Maya Jama reveals her stalker found out where she lived

The man found her house through Snapchat posts.

Love Island host Maya Jama has opened up about a terrifying experience she had with a stalker.

The presenter shared the story in a bid to raise awareness about sharing too much online.

She explained to the Daily Star that she had once shared too much information online.

Maya had been posting content to her Snapchat when she was walking home. She explained that you'd easily figure out where she was living by identifying the roads in the video.

She said, "So if you knew that road, you would be able to clock."

The host said a stalker had messaged her friend saying he was near the home they shared at the time.

"He had DM'ed my friend who I lived with at the time, saying, 'I am near your house."

The man also pretended to be her brother so he could get into an event she was attending.

"I did actually have a stalker. I was at the International Somali Awards and he had broken in by pretending he was my brother and literally got brought to my table."

Maya said the incident pushed her to be more careful online. She said it made her more cautious about what she posts on her public platforms.

She added: "You might not be online and you can have a stalker, everyone should be careful with what you are posting."

Maya urged her followers to be wary of what they're sharing online because you just don't know who is following you.

Earlier this week, Jama was showered with praise after making her Love Island presenting debut.

Fans couldn't help but rave about the presenter and how perfect she is for the role.

Jama took over from Irish presenter Laura Whitmore who stood down from presenting Love Island last summer.
