Netflix introduce 12 months ‘unlimited’ parental leave

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Netflix is the latest company to change its policies in support of parents, announcing “unlimited” paid maternity and paternity leave for employees during the first 12 months after a birth or adoption.

The generous move, announced on the Netflix blog, is part of a bid to attract more talent to the company and will take effect immediately for the company’s 2,000 employees.

“We want employees to have the flexibility and confidence to balance the needs of their growing families without worrying about work or finances,” the company said.

“Experience shows people perform better at work when they’re not worrying about home.”

If only all employers could be so understanding, eh?
