Children were left shaking and crying.

A group of nursery workers have been charged with child abuse after scaring children with Halloween masks.

The five staff members were working for Lil’ Blessings Child Care & Learning Center in Mississippi.

They decided to scare the children they were caring for, but the prank didn’t end well.

One staff member wore a ‘Scream’ mask and chased the children around the nursery.

Another recorded the prank and can be heard laughing at the terrified children.

The children were screaming and crying in the video. Others were so scared that they couldn’t even move.

The woman wearing the mask was yelling at the children in the video.

She can be heard saying, “Are you being bad? Do I need to take you outside?”

She also shrieked in the children’s faces.

According to ABC, five of the creche workers have now been charged.

Three workers have been charged with felony child abuse.

Another two have been charged with failing to report the incident.

Local police issued a statement following the incident;

“On Monday October 17, 2022 the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the County Prosecuting Attorney, and the District Attorney met with the parents of the children involved in the incident at Lil’ Blessings Child Care and Learning Center and informed them of the possible criminal charges the law would allow them to pursue.”

“Parents were also given an opportunity to share information they had gathered with MCSO Investigators.”

One parent told ABC that her blood pressure went through the roof when she saw the video.

She said she was furious at the daycare workers.

“It broke my heart for my child. I was so angry,” she shared.
