Tributes paid to 6-year-old Crumlin boy after tragic hotel drowning

“Oliver you made the kids smile every day.”

The boy who died after a swimming pool accident in Offaly has been named.

The victim has been identified as Oliver Forde (6) from Crumlin, Dublin.

Sadly, Oliver died after he got into difficulty while swimming at the Tullamore Court Hotel.

His family is completely heartbroken over his untimely death.

He is survived by his parents Denis and Nina and his brothers Jack and Lucas.

Oliver will be laid to rest on Friday, June 3rd.

His funeral mass will take place at St. Agnes’ Church, Crumlin.

His family has asked for family flowers only, but you can make donations to Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

Loved ones have paid tribute to Oliver. They remembered him as a “beautiful” boy.

A family friend said he will “always be embedded in our hearts”.

Another said they will always remember his “cheeky smile”.

“Oliver you made the kids smile every day.”

Another said his classmates will miss him dearly.

One added, “When I think of Oliver, I think of a funny little boy running around with the senior infant’s boys.”

After the accident, Oliver was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital.

However, he was later transferred to Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

Unfortunately, the 6-year-old didn’t make it and was pronounced dead on May 31st.

Gardaí are investigating the incident, but they are treating it as a tragic accident.

A file has been prepared for the Coroner’s Court.

The Health and Safety Authority is also investigating the tragic accident

The Tullamore Court Hotel issued a statement after Oliver’s death.

“We offer our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
