Small pieces of the rattle could break off.

Parents have been warned that the Clementoni Blooming Flower Rattle is not safe.

Smyths and Tesco Ireland have issued an urgent recall amid choking hazard fears.

The baby rattle contains small pieces which could potentially break off and be swallowed.

The toy manufacturer is concerned about infants swallowing the pieces and choking.

There are also concerns that children who swallow the small parts could have digestive system damage.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission issued the warning to parents.

They have been urged to take the Blooming Flower Rattle away from their children immediately.

The affected products have EAN codes 8005125173266 and 8005125173600.

The CCPC said, “A safety issue has been identified with the affected products where small parts could break off and be swallowed, presenting a choking risk for small children or possibly cause damage to the child’s digestive system.”

2100 affected products have been sold in the Republic of Ireland.

The affected product has been on sale since June 24th, 2020.

The popular toy rattle helps children experience colours, sound and textures.

It features colourful petals that open up to reveal a smiling face.

The rattle has been previously recommended for baby’s suffering from sore gums and teething.

Before the recall, the toy had been described as “a great baby toy for soothing sore gums”.

Smyths Toys, Tesco Ireland, and Ken Black Toys have asked customers to stop using the toy.

They urged, “If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately.”

Parents have been warned to keep the rattle away from children.

Anyone who has purchased the Blooming Flower Rattle will be offered a full refund.

All you need to do is return it to your place of purchase and you will be given your money back.
