Her son Hugo was taken to Crumlin hospital

Rosanna Davison said a mum should always trust her gut after her son was hospitalised.

She revealed her 15-month-old son Hugo was struggling to breathe.

The mum worried she was over-reacting but decided to take him to A&E in Crumlin hospital.

She said they spent most of the night there.

“He gave us a bit of a fright,” she admitted.

Earlier in the day, Hugo was suffering from a head cold. Rosanna’s pharmacist advised her to treat his symptoms with cough medicine and to keep an eye on him.

“I checked him, he was fine, he was his usual happy, cheerful, cheeky self all day.”

“But when I went to check on him and take his temperature at about 10:30 pm last night, I noticed he was really wheezy and struggling to breathe.”

Rosanna decided to call her mum, who then went to the hospital with her.

The mum-of-three praised the hospital staff. She said they treated Hugo so quickly and with great care too.

“They couldn’t have been kinder and more reassuring and sweeter to Hugo. They just made both of us feel really at ease.”

“You know your baby best”

Every mum knows just how terrifying those dashes to the hospital can be. Your mind is racing with dozens of worries and fears, but Rosanna said you should always trust your gut, just in case.

“I was told I did the right thing by bringing him in.”

She told her followers that little Hugo has croup. He was treated with a steroid and monitored closely for a few hours.

Rosanna told mums to always go with what your gut is saying, even if you fear you’re over-thinking.

“Lessons learned was always trust your gut as a mum. You know your baby best. Part of me was thinking was I overreacting…but I went in and the doctor said we did the right thing by bringing him in.

She also reminded her followers that nobody’s life is as perfect as it seems on Instagram.

“And the second lesson is that Instagram isn’t real. I was there posting pictures of pretty dresses a couple of hours before I ended up in A&E with my baby.”
