Community in shock after death of young woman (20s) in Waterford

A two-vehicle collision occurred this morning.

A young woman has sadly died in a road traffic accident in Waterford.

The woman, aged in her 20s, lost her life in a two-vehicle collision this morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the two-vehicle collision.

According to reports, the collision occurred on the N25 at Faha near Kilmacthomas, Co.Waterford this morning, July 12th.

A car and a lorry collided at approximately 8.30 am. The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 20s, was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her body has since been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford. Gardaí confirmed that a post-mortem is due to take place in the coming days.

The driver of the lorry was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí have put diversions in place as they conduct an investigation.

A technical examination of the scene will also take place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They also want any road users with video footage (including dash cam) to make this available to them.
