‘We are out the door’ Mum puts her kids to bed in the next day’s clothes to save time every morning

We’re listening…

When getting ready in the morning, time is a premium especially when multiple stops have to be made.

There are some mornings that I need to drop off my youngest to a childminder followed by bringing my eldest to school before heading off to work myself.

One mum thinks she has figured out the best time management skill when it comes to getting children ready quickly in the morning and we’re very interested.

Australian mum Lisa Lamond recently shared how she puts her daughters to bed in their clothes for the next day to save more time in the morning.

The mum-of-two said that her daughter’s are very independent and like to dress themselves but on hectic mornings she just doesn’t have the time to wait;

“My daughters like to dress themselves from head to toe. On days I’m working in particular, I don’t have a spare hour while they pull up one sock.

So the best piece of advice I’ve been given is to dress your kids the night before in the clothes you want them to go out in.”

This is something that I’ve come up against with my own daughter. Even though she’s only two she’s very much opinionated on what she will and won’t wear.

My only problem with using Lisa’s tip is that my daughter still sometimes leaks through her nappy pants soaking her PJs so if I were to dress her the night before chances are her clothing would be ruined by the following day.

Saying that I still think this is an interesting idea for slightly older children if you really do find that you have no time in the morning.

What do you think? Would you dress your children the night before to save time or would you just rather get them up a little earlier?
