5 dead and over 40 injured after car drives into crowd at Wisconsin Christmas parade

Numerous children were injured in the horror attack.

5 people have been killed and over 40 injured after a car drove into a Christmas parade in Wisconsin.

An SUV drove into the Christmas parade in Waukesha.

According to reports, the vehicle drove into the crowd at a high speed.

The suspect is now in police custody.

The fire brigade transported 11 adults and 12 children to hospital.

The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin said they were treating 15 youths and had no fatalities at the time.

A bystander revealed, “There were small children laying all over the road, there were police officers and EMTs doing CPR on multiple members of the parade.”

Waukesha Police Department said 5 people were killed and over 40 injured.

They warned, “These numbers may change as we collect additional information. Many people have self-transported to area hospitals.”

“The Police Department has the person of interest in custody.”

“The street will not be open before mid-day tomorrow, Monday, November 22nd. Businesses in this area should remain closed as entry and exit from Main Street will not be allowed.”

Any items for a temporary memorial will be placed at Veterans Park.

They urged anyone who witnessed the horrifying incident to reach out for help.

“Many people witnessed traumatic events this evening. If you need to talk with someone, please call 211.”

“The scene is still fluid, and the investigation is ongoing. The community mourns the loss of our community members and those injured.”

“We are asking for the community to come together during this time and to keep the families in your prayers.”
