Trimester 1
You might not notice much of a difference on the outside, but some big changes happen in those first few weeks of pregnancy. During the first trimester, the baby’s body structure and organ systems develop, as well as the placenta and the umbilical cord.
During this time, it's possible you'll experience tiredness, an upset stomach, morning sickness, cramps and fatigue among other symptoms, but some women may not get any of these. Some extra rest and the right nutritional support can help ease the symptoms.
It’s important to take Folic Acid during this time, as it contributes to the maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Proceive® Trimester 1 contains the recommended 400ug of folic acid in the L-Methylfolate form for increased absorption.
For your baby, calcium and Vitamin D will support the maintenance of normal bones during the first trimester. For you, iron, magnesium and Vitamin B2 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Trimester 2
At this stage, your baby will continue to develop all its organs and systems, and your baby will now begin growing in size and weight too. The weight of the foetus will multiply more than seven times over the next few months, reaching about 13 to 16 inches long and 2 to 3 pounds in weight by the end of the trimester.
As you might expect, this is when you'll start to notice more significant changes in your own size and weight. In general, you might also start to feel a bit less nauseous or tired during this trimester in comparison to the first term of pregnancy, and you may notice an increase in appetite too.
Proceive® Trimester 2 provides nutrition for you and your baby at optimum levels for the second trimester. For your baby Vitamin B1 supports the normal function of the heart. For you, as your bump begins to grow, biotin and vitamin B2 contribute to the maintenance of normal skin.
Trimester 3
As you start preparing to welcome your new baby in the coming weeks, foetal development continues throughout the third semester and your body begins to prepare for the birth of you baby - the end of your pregnancy is in sight!
This is when your baby begins to see and hear, and their lungs and kidneys mature during this trimester as well. The baby also starts to position itself head-down in preparation for birth and crowds the abdominal as it grows, which can make the final few weeks of pregnancy uncomfortable for the mother.
During this trimester, you should prioritise looking after yourself and getting extra rest where possible. Try and find ways to relax and enjoy these final few weeks of pregnancy.
Keeping your energy levels and health in check is crucial both during pregnancy and after the baby arrives. Proceive® Trimester 3 offers tailored nutrition for both you and your baby during the final 12 weeks of pregnancy. For your baby, folic acid contribute to the maternal tissue growth during this stage of pregnancy. For you, pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5) contributes to normal mental performance, while magnesium contributes to normal psychological function.
