5 Electric Picnic performances your kids will get a MAJOR kick out of

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Brought to you by Electric Ireland.

Bringing the kids to Stradbally this September? Lucky them!

By now you’ll have scoured the Electric Picnic line-up and carefully planned your ideal schedule for the weekend, but in order to entice your kids into bopping along to Chaka Khan and Run The Jewels, you may have to plan a few pit stops that are a bit more their speed.

Here are five acts that will keep them enthralled while you sit back and relax with a coffee.

1. Puppetry in the Hazel Wood

An Irish fairy-tale about a teenage boy’s adventure at his first party, The Boy With No Story is a traditional tale that has been told to the company by Clare Murphy and adapted for puppetry by the Dowtcha Youth Ensemble.

2. Sing along to the hits at the Throwback Stage

Electric Ireland is bringing 90s chart sensations 5ive and S Club Party to their ultimate Throwback Stage this year with one great Throwback act still to be announced.

Grab a spot near the front and wail along to ‘Reach for the Stars’ with your offspring. They’ll enjoy it as much as you do. Almost.

3. Scoff some seaweed at Soul Kids

Marine biologist and seafood enthusiast Paul O’Connor will be taking young foodies on an incredible interactive culinary journey on the Soul Kids stage. Learn all about these nutritious sea veggies and take away some tasty energy balls for a boost later in the day.

4. Catch a movie en masse

Electric Ireland’s Throwback Stage  is the perfect spot to wind down after an energetic show. They’ll be showing some of the best old school flicks throughout the weekend so pack a cosy blanket and indulge your inner movie buff while showing your kids what real movies are made of.

5. Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga incorporates Yoga breathing techniques with childlike playfulness. Certified leader Louise Burchall will lead a group Laughter Yoga session in the Soul Kids area this year – just the thing to start the day on a high.

Win tickets to Electric Picnic by tuning in to the ‘Electric Ireland Throwback Show’ Live on Facebook, featuring childhood legends Don Conroy and Dustin the Turkey, on 23 August at 8pm. There’s one great Throwback act still to be announced!

Electric Ireland is the official energy partner of Electric Picnic, and we’ll be bringing 90s chart sensations 5ive and S Club Party, PLUS a whole lot more, to our ultimate Throwback Stage at Stradbally this September.
