The incredible reason you should keep your children’s baby teeth

There could be a very good reason for you to hold onto their lost gnashers

It’s easy to become overly sentimental.

From keeping their first pair of shoes to their first toy, we tend to hang on to a lot of the memories. But what about their teeth? While some opt to keep them safe, many choose to throw them away.

However, there could be a very good reason for you to hold onto their lost gnashers, and doctors say we should be listening.

According to a study, baby teeth are a rich source of stem cells, which can be grown into multiple other types of cells if required.

While that may not sound overly important to you when you’re trying to sneak their tooth out from under their pillow, it could potentially make a huge difference later in life.

The study found that if the teeth were preserved quickly enough, the stem cells inside could be kept for years to be used if your child would need replacement tissue at some point.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, your standard box won’t quite cut it.

The teeth need to be placed in liquid nitrogen cryopreservation vault until the stem cells are needed.

Now, if you don’t happen to have some of that lying around the house, you might choose to use a service like Store-A-Tooth which will do all the hard work for you.
