The reality TV star has come under attack for her decision.

Amy Childs has faced new criticism for her decision to begin weaning her daughter Polly.

The former TOWIE star took to Instagram this week and told followers that she was planning to begin weaning her six-month-old daughter off of milk and onto juices and puree.

“Polly and I are too lucky ladies today, we are having a private weaning session with the queen of weaning Annabel Karmel,” she captioned a video of her and her little girl with the author.

“Polly has been the dream baby, although I have been finding it hard to get her to move on from milk to purees.

“Today we are going to taste lots of new flavours and see what Polly likes best.”

The post was quickly flooded with comments of criticism from followers who told Amy she was rushing the process.

“Polly’s weaning is probably not going well because she isn’t ready, why such a rush? Just wait,” wrote one follower.

“What are your reasons for weaning Polly earlier than guidelines advise?

“You may benefit from doing more research into baby led weaning,” said another.

However, it wasn’t long until Amy’s fans jumped into her defence with one saying:

“Only you know how to be Polly’s mum.

“Maybe we should stop mum-bashing and be more focused on supporting each other.”
