We’ve all been there – one child gets something and then the other one wants it too. Usually you just end up getting two but on this occasion, sibling solidarity reigned supreme.
You see, six-year-old Abigail Stout got a hamster for her birthday which made her older brother Daniel want one as well.
So he agreed with his mother Rachel that he would earn the money for it by doing extra chores around the house.
She told USA Today: “And boy did he. He folded every scrap of laundry, did yard work, dishes, even scrubbed the bathroom floor!”
Little did he know that his sister had her own ideas and wanted to use the money she had received from other relatives for her birthday to buy him a hamster.
Rachel explained: “When I asked what she wanted to do with her birthday money, she said, ‘I want to get Daniel his hamster! He has been working soooo hard!’
“I asked a few more times if she was sure, that it was her birthday money and she could so whatever she wanted with it. She was sure.”
Mum and daughter then went to the store to collect the animal and his reaction to the surprise is lovely. Like, our hearts actually may have melted.
