Changing Baby’s Bum (AKA Wrestling An Octopus)

Sharyn Hayden

From the day my daughter Eva was born, she had this look about her, one that said, ‘Whoever was in charge around here is totally fired. There’s a new kid in town’.

And now, at almost one and a half, she is – literally – running rings around us. She has an abundance of hyperactive energy that makes simple tasks like changing her bum an effort not unlike wrestling an octopus. It has taken both Alan and I to do it at times – one to keep her still and distracted while the other gets the job done.

Grandad’s birthday always falls on the October bank holiday weekend so we bundled everyone into the car to join him for some celebrations at his favourite local restaurant. The timing for long car journeys has to be just right with a determined child like Eva; feed them and change their bums right before you leave the house and hope that you’ll make it without too much fuss.

This year, we had the pit-stop problem solved with Pampers Baby-Dry Pants. Eva stayed dry and content all the way because their Extra Sleep-Layer means that your baby can stay comfortable for up to twelve hours while wearing them which is great!

Changing her after lunch wasn’t too much hassle for once either because pull-up pants are so much easier to use than regular nappies. You probably find, like me, that some restaurant bathrooms can be too cramped to comfortably change your kids in, but these pants are much easier to get on and off because you just tear the sides, dispose of them in the bin and pull the new ones quickly up her legs.

And the quicker the nappy-change with our little lady, the better it is for everyone!

Babies can enjoy up to 12 hours of Pampers dryness with the NEW easy to change Pampers Baby-Dry Pants.  Pampers has developed a new generation of Pampers Baby-Dry Pants to ensure that baby stays as dry as possible and they are so quick and easy to change so baby can enjoy uninterrupted happiness.
