Christine Lampard gets emotional talking about motherhood on her first day back to work

Christine and her husband Frank welcomed their first child together back in September.

The lovely Christine Lampard returned to Loose Women yesterday and despite being happy to be back with her colleagues, she was quite understandably a little emotional when talking about her newborn.

Indeed, a lot of women can find it tough returning to work after their maternity leave as it may be their first time being away from little one and the first day is always going to be the most difficult.

Forty-year-old Christine began to cry on her return when the conversation turned to her being a mum for the first time. Telling her fellow panellists about her little girl, Patricia, Christine said: “I was sort of fine until the doctor said: ‘Christine, you’re about to become a mummy’.” Then she became emotional!

She also spoke about how she’s been finding motherhood so far:

“She is now five months old, and honestly for the past five months I have been watching you at home, feeding her, sitting in my pyjamas. And here I am back again. It feels so strange.

“I have got into a sort of routine now. I am brave enough now to take her out and get her out on my knee, but in the early stages I was a bit worried about it, thinking ‘what if I don’t have everything, what if she starts crying’.”

The couple very sweetly named their little girl after Frank’s mother, who passed away before Christine and Frank began going out.
