Scandal‘s Katie Lowes has welcomed her first child.
The 36-year-old revealed on Twitter that she and her husband Adam Shapiro had welcomed a little boy named Albee.
The actress, who plays Quinn Perkins on the Shondaland drama, shared her news during the show’s final season premiere – where her character is also pregnant.
She posted a photo showing the newborn’s tiny feet alongside a bowl of popcorn, a glass, a drill, a green pacifier, a device advertising Scandal’s final season and a little sign announcing the “Baby Gladiator”‘s name.

She captioned the photo:

The actress announced she was expecting during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in May.
She told the chat show host that the drama’s show runner Shonda Rimes knew “the minute” she was pregnant, after watching her secret from watching footage for the show.

She added:
“I told her like, five minutes from being pregnant.
“You know what she said to me? She already knew. Because she’s Shona, she’s a genius.
“She knew the minute I got pregnant.
“I think she’s in the editing room with us for hours, and she was looking at my face – she could tell I either had a really good weekend eating pizza and beer or I was pregnant.”
