Corgi races are an actual thing and we CAN’T handle the cuteness

Niamh Maher

Horses may be taking center stage at Cheltenham but just WAIT till you see these dogs.

Normally the dogs involved in racing are greyhounds or whippets, dogs with long legs and sleek bodies. Well, did you know that corgi races are an actual thing? Yes, the little dogs that practically have no legs and love chilling with the Queen. WHAT?

The races take place at Canterbury Park in Minnesota, and we believe this clip we found is from the 2016 event.

Our favourite aspect of this sport is that the pups seem to have no idea what’s going on, nor do they care. Just in it for the craic, which is quite refreshing in this competitive world.

We’re very much hoping this event will be making a comeback this year, not too sure about Cheltenham, but we’d bet on these adorable furballs ALL DAY LONG.

And we’ll just leave this here.
