Cute DIY marbled pots made using nail varnish

Trine Jensen-Burke

Who doesn’t love a little crafting on a weekend afternoon?

This one I particularly love as: 1. It is so EASY to do. 2. It is cheap as chips. and 3. These babies will make for perfect little hostess gifts/organizing bits and bobs/just inject a little fun and colour to your living room.

And all you need is some nail polish (use up some of the ones you have floating about that you don’t really use anymore), some cheap small terracotta pots (you get these at garden centers for next to nothing) and a big bucket of water.

Tip: Are you hosting a birthday party for little ladies/tweens, this might be a fun project to do – and they all get to go home with the results at the end. A winner, we think.

Step 1: Fill the a bucket about halfway with water and let it come to room temperature. It’s best to do this outside so you have good ventilation.

Step 2: Liberally pour in nail polish. Let it spread out over the water as much as possible. You can help it move with a stick or even just shaking the bucket a bit. The more surface area of the water you cover the greater coverage on the pot.

Step 3: Dip the pot in the water. It might work best to dip the pot on its side and let the polish wrap around the sides. If you don’t cover the entire pot in one dip, then dip again if you like.

Set the pots on an even (and covered) surface to dry. Now, go make some totally unique and GORGEOUS pots. I am currently having a bit of a love affair with mini succulents, and these pots are perfect for those little greens.
