Dad highlights how hard it is to change nappies in public toilets… and starts a trend

“Let’s fix this problem…”

One dad has spoken out about the lack of facilities available to fathers in public toilets and has sparked a conversation around the issue.

Donte Palmer shared a picture of the reality for him and many other dads when it comes to changing his little one’s nappy.

Sharing the honest post on Instagram the dad-of-two hit out at the lack of consideration for fathers.

“What’s the deal with not having changing tables in men’s bathrooms as if we don’t exist?” he wrote.

“Clearly we do this often because look how comfortable my son is. It’s routine to him.

“Let’s fix this problem.”

The picture posted shows the dad squatting in a public toilet with his son lying across his legs as he changes his nappy.

Donte’s post was quickly inundated with comments from other fathers who have had to do the exact same thing on multiple occasions and began sharing the hashtag #SquatForChange.

Donte isn’t the first to spark a conversation around the issue.

Four years ago, after welcoming his first child Wyatt, Ashton Kutcher took to his social media pages to say:

“There are NEVER diaper changing stations in men’s public restrooms.

“The first public men’s room that I go into that has one gets a free shout out on my FB page!”

Clearly, not much has changed in those four years.
