George Clooney has spoken about becoming a dad for the first time (and we are swooning)

He’s doting already.

We found out recently that George Clooney and his wife Amal are expecting their first child together. Not only that, the couple are pregnant with twins.

George rarely does press interviews these days so when journalist Laurent Weil spoke to him on his French programme  Rencontres de Cinema, he couldn’t resist asking about his next challenge, as he put it, of being a father.

George spoke openly about how they are feeling and how friends are being very supportive. He said:

“I just saw that Belmondo had a child at 70 so I feel good about myself at 56. Look, it’s exciting and we’re really happy and really excited.

It’s going to be an adventure and we’ve sort of embraced all the adventures along the way with arms wide open so we’re excited.

My favourite part is that all my friends, who are my age and I have many of them, have already done it. They’re kids are all grown up and going off to college and they’re laughing.

You know, we were all sitting together the other night, a table of eight guys, and all their kids are away in college and we’re sitting there and they’re all being very supportive saying, ‘It’ll be fine, it’s great, you’re going to love it’, then it got really quiet, and they all just started making baby cry noises. And the whole table just busted up laughing.

It’s going to change a lot of things but that’s okay, that’s life.”

The babies are due in June and George’s mother recently let slip that they will be a girl and a boy.
