The conversation left Holly in disbelief.

Holly Willoughby was totally lost for words on today’s episode of This Morning when talking to a mum who openly admits she has a favourite child.

Alisha Tierney-March spoke to Phillip and Holly today about how she prefers her third child Kennedy more than her other three children, saying that she has a better bond with her.

“When Kennedy came along, the other two were in school so I got those whole six hours together, I breastfed her which I hadn’t been able to do with my other children.”

Holly and Phillip were visibly shocked by the mum-of-four’s revelation and wondered how it would impact on her other children who have heard their mum say she has a favourite.

“Although she’s my favourite, she doesn’t get preferential treatment. They all get loved equally,” she told the hosts.

“My husband thinks Kennedy gets away with more, but I’m not going to punish a two-year-old the way I do a seven or nine-year-old,” Alisha said in defence of her decision.

Holly was clearly taken aback at the mum’s admission, and questioned whether or not she feared her other children struggle with the idea, saying:

“The alarm bells are ringing about what it will do to them eventually.

“I know we’re giggling because it’s sort of shocking but actually that going in your head as a child and living with that inside and that growing and becoming bigger.

“Do you not worry about the impact that it’s going to have on them?”

However, Alisha defended her decision saying she had discussed it with her children before speaking publicly and says they know their mum loves them too.

“They said ‘Yes you do spend more time with Kennedy, we think she’s your favourite but we know you love us just as much.”

The segment received quite the response from viewers, with many parents taking to Twitter to share their shock.
