How To Sign Names In Cement Without Making A Mess

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Is there a person alive who can resist a patch of freshly poured concrete?

There’s something about carving your name into the squidgy surface, knowing it will be there for years and years to come, that’s frankly irresistible… even to grown-ups.

But how do you ensure your indelible signature is as stylish as you are? The lovely folks at Lovely Indeed have a neat trick for making a very cool lasting impression:

Instructions

Plan what you want to say and arrange cookie cutters accordingly. “If you have repeat letters,” says LI’s Chelsea. “…leave a blank space and move the repeat letter to the new space as you finish with it. Once you have your letters spaced the way you like them, gently tap the first letter on all sides with a hammer to sink the cookie cutter into the cement.”

Gently remove by pulling them directly upward.

Perfection!
