The start of summer is great.
You feel like you have all the time – and energy – for a bunch of sun-soaked activities that your little ones will love on their blissful break from school.
But weeks of the constant go-go-go can leave a mark on any parent – and suddenly all of those ‘fun summer ideas’ are…well, less than fun.
And Jennifer Garner knows the summer woes all too well.
The actress took to social media on Monday with the most perfect illustration of mums on the first day of summer – and the last.
The first photo shows the mum smiling, bright-eyed and looking excited as she holds a list titled ‘fun summer ideas’.
The second photo? Well….not quite as excited.

Based off the hashtags, it looks like the second photo is a behind-the-scenes photo from her new vigilante movie, Peppermint.
She captioned the photo set with a trio of very honest hashtags:
“#backtoschool #iwillmissthembut … #godblessteachers.”
The Alias star has three children with Ben Affleck: Violet, 12; Seraphina, 9, and 6-year-old Samuel.
She made a rare public appearance with all three of her children last month, as she attended her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
Speaking at the podium, she said:
“For my children, when you walk over this star, I want you to remember first of all that I love you and that this is about hard work and good luck and not a whole lot else.
“You define me, not this wonderful spot on the pavement.”
