The photo caused a social media frenzy.

Kim Kardashian West has defended herself against mommy shamers over a photo of her son Saint in his car seat.

The mum of two said that one of the photos she had posted to Facebook caused a social media frenzy – because 20 month old Saint was not in rear facing in his car seat.

But mum Kim insists that the toddler is now the height and weight requirement to sit forward facing.

She explained in a video onto her website:

“What people didn’t know is that Saint is now the weight and height requirement to sit forward-facing.

“Saint actually weighs more than North, if that is believable.”

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children are seated in “rear-facing car seats until age 2, or until they reach the maximum height and weight for their seat.”

Meanwhile, laws in the state of California state that a child under two years old must be using a rear facing seat unless they are at least 40 inches tall and weigh at least 40 lbs.
