This magical vibrating mat might be the answer to all of your sleep-deprived dreams

Trine Jensen-Burke

If you have ever paced the floors for hours on end with a baby that simply will not settle, you will know just how devastating (and exhausting) this can be.

I know, I have been there.

You literally try everything, you change and feed and fuss and feed again, but nothing will work.

In the end, it was a combination of being wheeled around (on the cobble locked streets of Oslo) in her buggy or literally carried in her sling around for hours that worked to soothe my little girl when she was a baby. For others; I have heard driving the baby aimlessly around the neighborhood in your car might have the same desired effect.

However, now there is apparently a new product out there that will save you both legwork (and petrol)

Say hello to Tranquilo – AKA the answer to all your parenting prayers.

The simple mat, which comes in both small ($85) and large ($100) sizes, is basically a portable solution to your screaming baby’s needs.

And get this: Not only does it vibrate (like a lot of baby bouncer chairs also do, to be fair), but it also mimics the womb’s sounds.

The beauty of this buy, though, is that unlike with a chair or seat, you don’t have to break contact with your fussy baby – you can actually hold both the child and the mat, allowing both vibrations and your voice settle him.

Clever or what?
