This isn’t the first time a father has paid tribute to his favourite football team with his child’s name and we don’t think it will be the last.
An Arsenal fan allegedly tricked his wife into naming their baby girl after the Gunners.
Website i100 came across a magazine clipping in which Clare Smith from Blacktown, New South Wales, explained what happened.
She wrote: “We chose our daughter’s name, Lanesra, because it was unique and romantic.
It wasn’t till she was two that my husband told me it was actually his favourite soccer team, Arsenal, spelled backwards.”
It is not clear where exactly the letter was published but what we do know is that we’d be a little peeved if he was our other half!
