Men share their honest thoughts on breastfeeding… and they’re way off

'Can't moms just wait to breastfeed until they get home?'

Anna O'Rourke

In case you’d ever wondered…

If you’ve ever breastfed, you’ll know that there are a lot of opinions out there on it.

Whether you pay them any attention is up to you, though people might hold back when in polite company.

Secrets app Whisper has published some honest opinions, submitted by anonymous men, and they make for some interesting reading.

It turns out that some men are painfully backwards about breastfeeding.

These are worrying, and also ridiculous.

“If I was a married man with a baby, I wouldn’t want my wife breastfeeding in public. Too many creeps.”

The possessive attitude might be why you’re not married, pal.

“I’m a guy so maybe I’m missing something, but can’t moms just wait to breastfeed until they get home?”

Yes. Yes you are missing something.

“Breastfeeding in public shouldn’t be allowed. As a man, it makes me feel bad to see women half naked everywhere when I have a girlfriend.”

It’s your girlfriend we feel bad for here.

“I’m a guy who totally understands breastfeed(ing)… but I just don’t understand why people refuse to use covers.”

Guess you don’t totally understand, then.

“I’m a guy who isn’t trying to see any woman half naked in public. Underwear ads, breastfeeding – all of it should be behind closed doors.”

Yeah, nothing more obscene than a lady feeding her child.

Thankfully, there are some sane guys out there.

I’m a guy and if I see someone shame a woman for breastfeeding in public, I will go out of my way to make a scent embarrass the person bothering a mother about being a mom.”

“My girlfriend was breastfeeding in public and a man came over telling her to cover up, so I threw my jacket over his face. ‘There you go, all covered up.'”

“No real man would get offended by a mother breastfeeding. Leave her and that baby alone.”

Plus, this one really odd man. Not sure what his deal is.

I’m a man that wishes they could experience life as a woman. Periods, pregnancy, breastfeeding etc. Don’t take it for granted, ladies.
