Mum lets 11-year-old dye her hair PINK… for a very good reason

"Life is too short to say NO all of the time."

Would you let your 11-year-old daughter dye her hair?

My mum let me do it at that age, and I turned out just fine.

Although, I wasn’t allowed to dye my hair pink, so there may be a substantial difference.

Rachel Ann Carpenter has let her 11-year-old daughter, Navaeh, dye her hair a vibrant shade of pink, and even though some parents may have an issue with her decision, she has a very good reason for doing so.

The mum took to Facebook to share some adorable photos of Navaeh with her new hair and to explain the rationale behind her decision.

In her post, she wrote that one year ago, her daughter asked if she could dye her pink.

At that time, Rachel said no.

Then, the mum said that a few days later something happened to her daughter that made her think that life “is way too short to say NO all the time.”

“A few days later at a camp they were doing a demonstration involving fire and something went wrong and it caught her on fire.

She had horrible burns over 70% of her body. This time last year we were in the hospital with her not knowing if she was going to live or not.

So this time when she asked me if she could have pink hair, I said yes. That experience taught me you never know how much time you have left, with anyone.”

Rachel added that she thinks we should all say yes more often… even if we think our daughter’s pink hair will look ridiculous.

Her emotional (and super cute) post has already received over 53,000 likes and 25,000 shares.

In the comments, fellow mums are praising her decision to let little Navaeh achieve her dream of having pink hair.

And we don’t blame them, because she looks just fab.
