Mum traumatised by toddler talking to ‘someone’ down the drain … but there’s a simple explanation

Keeley Ryan

It’s arguably one of the most terrifying, chilling and iconic lines in any movie.

Which is why it was understandable when one mum was shaken when her toddler leaned down the drain one day, saying “Hi Georgie.”

Even if you haven’t seen IT, or you simply have nerves of steel, those words are definitely bound to make you feel a bit of unease.

For anyone who hasn’t seen the movie, though, it’s the words that Pennywise the killer clown first says to Georgie Denbrough as he creeps out of a storm drain.

Unfortunately for Georgie, it didn’t turn out too well for him.

One mum recently found herself questioning what – or who – her 3-year-old daughter was talking to…and couldn’t help but be reminded of the scene.

The woman, who goes by @BorntoBriWild on Twitter, began:

“My 3 year-old just made me cr*p my pants when she looked down our bathroom sink and goes ‘Hi Georgie…’

“Keep in mind she’s never seen a scary movie in her life, let alone IT.”

Thankfully, though, there was a much better outcome this time around.

The post continues:

“Against my better judgement i look down the drain AND…it’s Peppa Pig’s little brother, George.”

The post soon went viral, getting more than 150,000 retweets and 500,000 likes, with many people calling it “precious and terrifying”.
