Parents warn Sam Faiers

A number of mothers offered their opinions.

Sam Faiers, a mother of two who found fame on reality TV show TOWIE, has shared cute photos of her daughter Rosie playing in a mini indoor pool.

The photos are sweet but it’s the neck float worn by the four-month-old which has people leaving worried comments.

Neck floats have been a source of controversy in recent times as experts have warned that if a float deflates, the baby could drown.

More than one mum commented on the photo, urging Sam to stop using the neck float.

“Warnings have been issued over the danger of the neck rings. They are not safe and babies should never be left unattended in water. Love Sam but these two products are dangerous”.

“Article after article explains all the risks and dangers but It’s common sense though really. Amazon and eBay have had to recall a lot of these!”

… I mean, it was inevitable ?‍♀️?‍♂️

Previously Kyran Quinlan, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center and former chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Council on Injury, Violence and Poison Prevention, previously spoke out on the dangers of these floats.

Chatting to WDSU News, the professor said:

“Neck floats for babies scare me to death, and I hope they scare parents.

“These are potential death traps. To have your precious baby one poorly sealed seam away from going under at the pool is frightening.”
