Parents in Dublin are warned about a man approaching a child

Laura Holland

Parents in South Dublin are being warned about an incident which occurred in the area of Meadowbrook.

A note has been sent around to parents in nearby schools stating that a man tried to entice a child away from a park in Meadowbrook where they were playing. Luckily the parents were present at the time and intercepted him.

Meadowbrook is located between Dundrum and Ballinteer.

The following note was issued to parents:

“A guy approached a child in the park in Meadowbrook yesterday and tried to entice her away, her parents came on the scene and the guy fled.

The Garda have confirmed the incident.”

A similar note was sent out to parents in the Rathgar area last week, following another incident like this. However, in this instance, the man was reported to be lurking near school gates.
