For model Josephine Skriver, convincing everyone she was “just the same as everyone else” seemed unnecessary but, she found herself doing just that. When her mother, a gay woman, was a child, she had always dreamed of being a mother. She placed an ad in a newspaper and got a reply from Josephine’s future dad.
Josephine’s father was preparing to wed his male partner at the time.
As a kid, Josephine never questioned who she was as it was completely natural to her. When she started to travel as a young model, things changed.
Throwaway comments like “She’s not made the natural way – she shouldn’t even be here” never affected her optimistic outlook on life as an IVF baby.
Josephine’s story is so heartfelt; we had to share.
