Amazing.
Can you imagine needing to take a really important exam but you need to bring your incredibly young infant with you?
You’d be sitting in the exam hall trying to give your best performance all the while worrying that your child was hungry or uncomfortable or a distraction for the room.
No? Us neither. The very thought fills us with dread.
We’re lucky then that most of us are privileged enough to not have to do this, but for one woman from Afghanistan, this was a normal occurrence.
Jahan Taab was taking a social sciences entrance exam for a university in Kabul when her baby started crying.
The 25-year-old stood up with her exam paper, sat on the ground, and began breastfeeding her baby while continuing to write her exam.
Inspiring photo from social media: this mother is taking university entrance exam while taking care of her child, in Daikundi. Afghan women are unstoppable. pic.twitter.com/lus0eeuH48

A photo of Jahan was taken by the exam’s supervisor who shared it on social media calling the mum “amazing.”
And she is – there’s no way any of us would be able to face even bringing a baby to an exam, let alone breastfeeding while continuing to work on the paper.
The photo quickly went viral, with many people calling Jahan inspiring, brave, and “an absolute legend.”
They’re not wrong either. What a woman.
Now THAT’S a powerful statement.

That Afghan women are unstoppable I fully agree. What are Afghan men doing to promote women’s cause?
